Social Security Disability Benefits – Different Ways to Win

If you are 55 or over

Even if you are still able to do light work, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits if you can no longer do the work that you did in the past. For example, if you were a construction worker, but you are now told by your doctor that you can no longer do construction work but can perform light work, you may still be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits. There are many exceptions and qualifications. Navigating these Social Security Disability exceptions and qualifications requires an experienced Social Security Disability lawyer.

If you are between the ages of 50 and 54, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits even if you can now perform a desk job.

Even if your past work was relatively light, if it involved walking or standing a good part of the day, you may still be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits even if you could now perform a desk job. For example, if you were a counter clerk and were required to stand most of the day, and your doctor now tells you that even if you can’t do that work you could do a job sitting at a desk, you may still be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits. Again, the rules are complicated with many technicalities. This requires an experienced Social Security Disability attorney.

If you are under the age of 50, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits if you cannot perform a full-time job, even if you can perform part-time work.

If you are under the age of 50, you can be found disabled if you are unable to perform any type of work on a full-time basis. You can receive Social Security disability benefits even if you have the ability to work part-time but your doctor says that you cannot work full-time. Again, the rules are very complicated, which requires the input of an experienced Social Security Disability lawyer.
